As for Velvet in National Velvet, not only did I see it again just last week on Turner Classic Movies, but I saw her in the same Velvet mode in Lassie Come Home with Rody McDowall as a kid.
I attended Georgia Tech in the early 1970s, and at that time it was primarily an engineering school with very few females. I stayed on campus in a dorm in the middle of a cluster of dorms. There was a neighborhood lunchroom. At 6 pm every day, the lunchroom would fill to capacity with male engineering students, to watch Star Trek. You would not dare get up and risk losing your seat. And you would not dare make any noise during the entire show. Would have been a little difficult for an outsider to comprehend.

I had almost forgotten about Will Robinson from Lost in Space.
