Cloud computing is pure hell. How can people be so stupid to literally give their information away to some people they don;t even know. Google is already making billions from adds and from selling our data they have gotten through all its tricks. Can you imagine how much money companies like Google will make when they have ALL our data? I have no problems sharing my data to some stranger, BUT last time I check, Obama does’t let me see his personal pics and docs. Nether people from the CIA, FBI, NSA, Microsoft or even Google let me take a look at their private docs and stuff.

What is next? Cloud Operating Systems? in which I will have a damn terminal and they will have the mainframe? I won;t be able to watch porn, save my own documents where nobody can see them, chat without anybody watching or anything I want cause those bastards will see what I do in my desktop all the time. I read a post where google wants Congress to pass a law which would assure companies about their privacy in the cloud. LOL Whats makes them believe that will assure their privacy? Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc will have physical access to our data. They have been “hacked” before and I say “hacked” because to me that is just an excuse to give our information away to foreign countries or agencies. It is a nice excuse to not be sued.

Same is true with Cloud computing. This is what happens when marketing firms run technology. Remember “client server model?” TCO?
Now it is time to rant “cloud computing”, “Infrastructure as a service”. “Platform as a service”. Whatever that means.

totally agree, leave the web 2.0 technology to the web giants, they know these stuff. we’re just spectators. Which coincides, why I stumbled upon this blog, I was looking for “web 2.0″ WP themes, and saw this article titled 10 best 2.0 wordpress themes and I looked in the content, saw some gradients some light pastel colors, and they called it web 2.0, the term has been a catch all for nothing.

Totally agree, I just can’t stand all these idiotic and totally meaningless buzz terms. It’s always people that know nothing that go around spouting them in order to convince people that they are somehow in or hip or something stupid like that. Frequently this means marketing and recruitment bods, sad pathetic buggers!

The entire web2.0, blogs, word press, content managment and anything with SQL data base has ground the internet into the dirt.

Oh, and advertising, especially google advertising and the like, which by the way has ruined the internet. The internet was once A place where information was free and offered by those of like minds intrested in sharing and not making a buck.

just fyi, Tim O’Reilly coined the term web2.0.

I agree with skip; there’s nothing wrong with the people who coin these terms, it’s the people who, without understanding what they are meant to symbolise, over-apply them to any and every field in a lame attempt to ride the buzz. ;)
